The NFL Players Association has been a client of ours since 2014 when we created two NFLPA style guides, one for internal brand guidelines and another for licensing and partnerships. Year after year, one of our projects continues to grow in popularity — the creation of NFL Player Emojis.
Not only are the emojis fun, they portray the players in a simple but stylized way that works well with a variety of licensed consumer products, from apparel and accessories to toys and other related categories. They also provide the NFLPA with an additional IP asset (besides player photos, signatures, and numbers) which can be used to inspire future product collaborations and graphic applications.
We’d like to say congratulations to the NFLPA licensing team for winning best Sports Licensed Program at the 2017 LIMA International Licensing Awards during this year’s Licensing Expo. They even created custom sport coats featuring the emojis in toss patterns!
The emoji collection is currently featured in product sales presentations for Uno, Danimals, good2grow, Rubie’s costumes, and Burger King kids meals, as well as individual player footballs through Wilson and Franklin.
