Central Casting is synonymous with the film casting industry, having spawned the phrase, “Straight out of Central Casting.” But after 80 years, their branding looked corporate and out of sync. We worked with The Brand Factor in LA to develop a creative strategy. Inspired by old-Hollywood entertainment giants like Universal Studios, Paramount, and MGM, we imagined Central Casting as though it were the subject of a 1930s period film. We asked ourselves, “What kind of sign would the set designer put above the door?” And then we visualized how that sign would evolve into a 21st Century logo.
