Packaging, theme art, product vision, style guide, and logo system for Universal’s Curious George infant/toddler program.

Curious George by H. A. and Margret Rey was first published by Houghton Mifflin in 1941, and the mischievous monkey has been capturing the hearts of children ever since. Universal Partnerships & Licensing developed a strategy to leverage their new toddler-based books into a targeted licensing program. The branding system and character art color selections were quite a challenge since the branding and packaging system had boy, girl, and neutral gender focuses. The character art was based on both the classic and the new toddler books, then re-drawn for consistency. We developed a full line of badges, editorial treatments, patterns, and borders, which were eventually applied to a product vision montage.
