Logo Development | Brand Identity System

StyleWorks had a honor of developing of a new brand identity system for Northshire, a beloved, family-owned bookstore with locations in Manchester, Vermont and Saratoga Springs, New York. With an updated logo, the identity was designed to serve as the foundation for all future brand development, communications, and marketing.

The Primary Logo

The original brand identity system was steeped in Northshire’s history, but after careful consideration with the owners and staff, we found a way to take the brand in a new direction while staying true to its New England roots.

Inspired by Northshire’s welcoming environment, our logo featured a weeping willow rising from an open book to celebrate the love of reading with a sense of wonder and whimsy.

Additional Logos and Marks

The project included a robust set of additional logos and marks to be used across the store’s many events and marketing communications.

The primary font tied the entire brand identity system together with just the right amount of detail, including a selection of glyph options.

Northshire Kids

Both Northshire locations have a whole floor just for kids! This prompted us to create a dedicated set of logos and icons with color direction specific to marketing, signage, and other applications intended for children.

We provided the Northshire team with example applications for signage and merchandise as well as for their events calendar, social media, and website. They were excited to use the new branding on everything from apparel and accessories to even coffee!
