StyleWorks Creative developed Toyota’s first licensing style guide for the U.S. market. The guide complemented the current Toyota brand guidelines, providing creative assets and design direction for licensing partners applying Toyota’s brand marks and messaging to lifestyle products across various product categories.

The style guide grew to be over a hundred pages, including over a hundred designs, a complete breakdown of the Toyota vehicle lineup, as well as a packaging system and multiple theme art collections.

Core Collection

Our first collection used major brand identifiers, like the Toyota emblem and wordmark, as well as classic Toyota brand messaging, as the foundation for an inspired selection of creative assets and composed designs.

Let’s Go Places

Our next collection was based on the notion “Life is bigger when you get out and discover more of it.” Using scenic vistas, inspired illustrations, and an earthy color palette, our theme gave rise to a series of designs featuring Toyota vehicles amid the great outdoors, including eco-friendly options like the Prius.

TRD

Toyota has been pioneering motorsports since the 1950s, pushing the limits of design and engineering. Celebrating the enduring legacy of Toyota Racing Development and the American wing of the division, TRD USA, this collection captured the excitement and performance of TRD vehicles as well as their impact on off-road racing.

Vintage Park

Our final collection found inspiration in the great American landscape, using an evergreen style well-suited for a variety of product applications. Composed designs featured Toyota heritage vehicles amid scenic vistas, with weathered elements and a rustic color palette, drawing heavily from national park signage.
