Creative Asset Collection | Product Vision | Creative Support
Crayola’s branding, packaging, and presence at retail have evolved over the years, going back to its founding. Given the nostalgia for 80s and 90s pop culture, StyleWorks developed a collection of retro creative assets that would appeal to young adults while capturing the enduring and playful spirit of the brand in those influential decades.
Branding and Icons Reimagined
We began by collecting a number of classic Crayola logo variations, including them with our creative assets, among other nostalgic graphic elements, to aid and inspire licensing partners when developing original designs.
Our own composed designs were based on retro pop colors and classic 80s and 90s graphic elements.
Arcade games, mixtapes… We even sought out retired crayon colors for inspiration.
Working with Creative Assets
We often include an Extending the Artwork section to demonstrate how specific graphic elements can be paired with editorial sayings and backgrounds to create original designs.
In imagining how the Crayola Retro collection could be extended to products for young adults, we showcased a wide range of possibilities in our product vision, including categories such as apparels and accessories.
